Emily Abrams is an advisor at Narva & Company. As a core member of the firm’s
multidisciplinary team, she helps family controlled enterprises achieve three concurrent
goals: strengthened family relationships, continuity of family control, and continued
corporate growth. Among her advisory roles Emily leads the firm’s board search practice
informed by a deep and comprehensive understanding of the unique family culture,
core values and corporate vision of clients seeking to establish or refresh independent
perspective on their boards of directors or councils of advisors.
Emily also leads Narva & Company’s Next Generation education and mentoring
programs. Each program is tailored specifically to support development of younger
family members for leadership roles in family governance, careers in the family’s
enterprise, stewardship of the family’s legacy, or readiness for future roles as family
directors.
Emily is an active member of The Boston Club, the influential membership community
for advancement of women leaders, where she serves on the Governance Committee
and as liaison to the Marketing and Research Committee. She is also a member of
the National Association of Corporate Directors, 2020 Women on Boards, and serves
as Communications Director for the Michael C. Rothberg September 11th Memorial
Scholarship Committee.
Emily holds a Bachelor’s degree from Simmons College. She began her career in
teaching, editing and designing a nationally recognized program in art museum
education while raising her three daughters and hosting exchange students from many
countries. She practices yoga, has an eclectic collection of art, books and old friends,
and finds her greatest joy in celebrating everyday life with her family and growing
number of wonderful grandchildren.
